Adoniram RAM Installation 2018-03-24

Spring is here and the better weather ushered in Adoniram Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No552 Installation meeting and this was held at Liverpool Masonic Hall, Hope Street.   Because of date of this year Easter the Installation meeting had to be held earlier date than normal, in this case Friday 23rd March.

This also meant that the usual lodge room normally used by the Lodge was not available and so on this occasion the meeting was held in the ‘Egyptian’ room which is almost exclusively used as the ‘Chapter Room’.   With the lodge room set out for Adoniram’s RAM Installation meeting the members and visitors gathered and with a couple of visitors sitting to make up for missing members and a guest organist for the night, one PPGM RWBro Peter Connolly, (who said “His Bach was better than his bite”).

The Worshipful Commander, WBro Les Moore opened up the proceedings,   first offering the PGM RWBro Keith Beardmore RAMGR gavel, which was duly returned despite the Worshipful Commanders best efforts to get him to keep it.  Salutations were then given.  WBro David Emmerson RAMGR then presented the Commander elect Bro Ian Elsby to the Worshipful Commander for the ceremony of installation which was carried out the ceremony in splendid fashion.  (This showed all the hard work he had put in preparing for the installation.)

The address to the Worshipful Commander was done by WBro Michael Clarke in fine form.   This was followed by the Exposition which on this occasion was presented by the RW Provincial Grand Master also in fine form.   At the close of the ceremony the PGM congratulated Bro Elsby on becoming   Worshipful Commander of Adoniram RAM Lodge.  It was then time for drinks before dinner.  After dinner and in response to his toast the PGM once again congratulated Bro Elsby on obtain the chair and WBro Moore on the excellent ceremony.

The PGM also commented on the work of the charities and that money had been donated to from the MBF as well as our own local charity to Lytham St Annes Life Boat appeal and that the new life boat will be handed over on 14th April.  RWBro Beardmore reminded the brethren that money donated to local community charities was money from Masons themselves and not from general collections and that all Masons should be proud of that fact.
We wish the new Worshipful Commander, Bro Ian Elsby and all the members of Adoniram RAM Lodge a happy and successful year.
